Greens in 2 Dallas County Races Could Be Removed

With the recent ruling that allows the Green Party on the Nov. 2 ballot, its candidates for Dallas County races are getting The Ellis County Observer's scrutiny:
--If Joy Vidheecharoen-Glatz filed for Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 in Dallas County, she'll be tossed off the ballot I"m sure since there are additional "places" in Precinct 3. So it would be something like, Precinct 3, Place 1, etc.

--I don't see how there will be any way the Dallas County surveyor candidate (Jeffery Glatz) will be listed on the ballot for a position that does not exist -- unless I'm mistaken and there's a Constitutional amendment somewhere that abolished the position.

--The Greens will make the race for county clerk (Esther Choi) a four-way contest that already features a Republican, an incumbent Democrat and a Libertarian. This race could actually give the Republican the win if the Green and Libertarian votes pull enough away from the incumbent.
It's likely that the Greens' Texas Comptroller candidate will secure enough votes and a big enough voting percentage to give the fourth-party automatic ballot access in 2012, at which point that would open Ellis County's Green Party contact (shhh, no one is supposed to know that yet) to field and recruit candidates.

Sara's Secret | The Other Billboard on I-35 That Created a Buzz

Was running through my Photobucket album for The Ellis County Observer, and came across the non-cucumber billboard that Sara's Secret in DeSoto had up previously:

For all the advertising I'm giving Sara's Secret...I should get some gift certificates out of this...

Mosque-like Architecture in Cedar Hill?

Remember when I showed you guys the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce building and how Middle Eastern it looked? Or what about Red Oak High School's new Dome of the Hawk (haha, catchy isn't it?) on their $95 million high school...and now in Cedar Hill, has Bailey's always gone for the gold dome look, or is this just unique for Cedar Hill?

I'm tolerant of every religious faith, even while we are at war with some elements of certain groups that really do in fact want to butcher us (the federal government, via economics, is included in that list), so don't take this "observation" of local architecture as me being a Muslimophobe. Some of the most beautiful women in the world come from the Middle East.

Dalton Lott, Parkland Defend Breaking Open Meetings Act, Premature Birth Actions

Is this the same Dalton Lott who is the political equivalent to Tony Soprano in Duncanville (the chair of Pro-Dunc PAC)? The same Dalton Lott who oversees Parkland Hospital's quality and risk management committee, the very body that was featured in the Dallas Morning News Metro section today?

Parkland, a taxpayer-funded abyss of a hospital, is apparently not meeting World Health Organization standards of keeping premature babies warm enough after they are delivered via C-sections (I refuse to acknowledge the offensive term, "preemies" that the DMN refers to these living human beings as.)

Not that I'm a fan of subscribing to a world body known for implementing the actual AIDS virus in African nations or promoting the widespread use of lethal doses of poison in children's vaccines, or better yet, hyping up the very-real BS of the H1N1 fear-mongering.

But the open meetings violations are extremely clear, judging by the questions these Parkland executives and busybodies were asking in haste towards the DMN reporters. How arrogant! The public agenda, according to the DMN, never listed an executive session item, but after some scrutiny over the premature birth temperature issue, Parkland's board went behind closed doors for almost four hours.

If this Dalton Lott is the very Dalton Lott I think it is, he is helping assist Parkland in violating the Open Meetings Act.

Lancaster Officer Craig Shaw's TCLEOSE Background & Training

For those curious to know, Lancaster Police Dept. Officer Craig Shaw was a former DeSoto police officer, and his background in law enforcement -- plus his training -- was definitely more than enough to prepare him for protecting and serving. TCLEOSE released this officer status report to The Ellis County Observer/The Palmer Post yesterday:

eco2.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/craig-l-shaw-315385.pdf

Meanwhile, The Ellis County Observer has been throttled with Web traffic since this story broke out Sunday evening...all I ask is that people seek out the full truth on this ordeal...and much of it has been posted on the Dallas Morning News article in comments. The Ellis County Observer reporter Brandon P. Reed is investigating this further, discussing it with witnesses at the apartment complex in Lancaster...

This Lancaster police hero needs to be remembered by everyone. It is the first officer killed in the line of duty in Lancaster. Side note, even though this is truly a side note: pronounce it Lanc-ister, not Lanc-aster. (to the media people)

Lancaster Police Shooting | Craig Shaw the 1st LPD Officer Killed in Line of Duty

There are lots of things floating around on the comments of the Dallas Morning News article: dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/062110dnmetlancaster.c20ebd52.html

But here are some questions I have:

Was the regional tactical unit that Craig Shaw belonged to the same tactical unit created/started/funded by and with the DeSoto/Red Oak/Midlothian/Ovilla/Cedar Hill tactical unit(s)?
Why are some in law enforcement and the TV media tipping The Ellis County Observer that Dallas Police Chief David Brown's son was one of the shooters? And is this/has this been looked into more?

Please remain mindful of all the victims and officers of this tragedy, plus their families. But only a thorough full investigation will get to the truth, and I want to be a constant reminder that no matter the situation or who is involved, the truth must remain the ultimate goal.

Lancaster Cop Killed; Son of Dallas Chief David Brown Killed

This is a bizarre story, and even more ironicaly bizarre is the fact that for some reason, this entire week I had Dallas Police Chief David Brown's son on my heart...I don't know exactly why I felt the need to think about Chief Brown's son, but perhaps it was something on a spiritual plane that I cannot understand. What CBS 11 reported tonight, though, is sad news for law enforcement: a Lancaster cop is dead. The son of Chief Brown is dead. The Internet is buzzing with all sorts of people who are reporting all sorts of things...I'm not sure what the details are, but my thoughts and prayers are with the Lancaster PD and Chief Brown. I just hope and pray, too, that we are given the full details of what happened and that no forces beyond our eyesight will conceal anything...a thorough explanation is warranted in this tragic situation...

Another Messianic Congregation Found in DeSoto: 1 Block from TLW

There's a predominately African-American Messianic (Torah-observant) congregation in DeSoto, and ironically, it's one block from The Living Word (Hampton@Beltline) congregation...oh, so about that Light to the world thing:

Light to all the earth

ELISA NORMAN
The Palmer Post
normanbe@aircanopy.net

In Acts 13, Paul and Barnabas are appointed to spread the message of the good news. Each Sabbath, they address the Jews and Gentiles who worship God in the synagogues. Segments of the Messianic movement of today are an outgrowth of that first century way of faith. According to the commands of God, both Jews and Gentiles who worship God should be meeting in synagogues every Sabbath to read, study, and discuss the words of the Torah and the salvation of Yeshua.

Acts 13 is particularly clear that God does not give a different message for Jews and non-Jews; non-Jews who want to follow the Creator God must go to the light given to the Jews. Acts 13:16 and 13:26 state that there are both Jews and non-Jews in the congregations. Acts 13:47, quoting Isaiah 49:6, says, “I have made you a light for the gentiles that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” God gives the spiritual light of the Torah to the Jews, gives salvation/ Yeshua through the Jews, and commands the Jews to share it with the world.

Acts 13 also records the controversies brought about by this command. Now, two thousand years later, these controversies still create divisions. Jews do not want to share the light with non-Jews; on the opposite side, non-Jews do not think Jews have anything special to offer. Those who abide by Torah do not see the Messiah in the Word; contrarily, those who profess Messiah do not want to abide by his Word. Even those who do see the two halves of the story and bring them back together as the saints of Revelation 12:17 and 14:12 (those who profess Yeshua and abide by the commandments/Torah) still manage to find details to argue about with one another.

Nevertheless, God’s light is increasing on the earth. Torah-observant congregations faithful to Messiah spring up in the most surprising places!

Actively living out his call to bring light to the world is Douglas Nurse, the Pastor of The Tabernacle, a Messianic congregation in DeSoto, just one block down from The Living Word at Beltline and Hampton Rd. Spreading the news of Messiah and teaching Sabbath and the Holy Days through urban and lyrical dance, The Court at the Tabernacle has new worship dance classes opening next week. Ex-Councilman Who Helped Halt Dallas Annexation into Ellis County Dies

Billy Wickliffe was a legend damn-near in the town of Wilmer, north of Ferris located in southern Dallas County. He also helped steer efforts towards fighting (I think) the city of Dallas' monstrous annexation attempts into Ellis County. He was a longtime councilman, mayor, mayor pro-tem and a pretty funny guy. He will definitely be missed.

BestSouthwestBlog.com | Ex-Mayor's Son Commits Suicide? 2 CH Deaths Linked?

Several months ago, a string of mysterious deaths had me wondering...first in Cedar Hill, where two members of the Mayfield family were found dead. Then in DeSoto, where a Davis was found dead. Danny Davis is reportedly (not confirmed, but readers, correct me) the son of former DeSoto Mayor(al candidate) Durward Davis, who lost to Richard Rozier in the early to mid-90s. Davis reportedly shot himself.

The Mayfield deaths were in the neighborhood that Dallas County Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, R-Cedar Hill, resides in. I'm not sure if the Mayfields are kin to the commissioner, but if so, no one has followed up on this link, but also, there needs to be prayers said for this family. The odds of them not being related are probably pretty low...but still, it'd be nice for a follow-up...
Cedar Hill couple's deaths may be murder-suicide

07:10 AM CDT on Thursday, March 18, 2010

JON NIELSEN / The Dallas Morning News

A man and woman were found dead Wednesday morning in an apparent murder-suicide at their home, a city spokesman said.

Friends hadn't heard from the husband in several days and went to check on him at the couple's home in the 1500 block of Sharon Drive about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. They called police after finding the bodies of the two, who had been married about four years. The Dallas County medical examiner's office identified the couple as Jerry and Amy Mayfield of Cedar Hill.

City spokesman Corky Brown said detectives found Amy Mayfield, 37, wrapped in a sheet in the garage of the home near Kingswood Park, west of State Highway 67. Jerry Mayfield, 45, was found in his car parked in the garage. Both appeared to have died from gunshot wounds, Brown said.

He said it's unclear when the slayings occurred, but the husband had left notes and e-mails for detectives detailing their deaths.
