Several months ago, a string of mysterious deaths had me wondering...first in Cedar Hill, where two members of the Mayfield family were found dead. Then in DeSoto, where a Davis was found dead. Danny Davis is reportedly (not confirmed, but readers, correct me) the son of former DeSoto Mayor(al candidate) Durward Davis, who lost to Richard Rozier in the early to mid-90s. Davis reportedly shot himself.
The Mayfield deaths were in the neighborhood that Dallas County Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, R-Cedar Hill, resides in. I'm not sure if the Mayfields are kin to the commissioner, but if so, no one has followed up on this link, but also, there needs to be prayers said for this family.The odds of them not being related are probably pretty low...but still, it'd be nice for a follow-up...
Cedar Hill couple's deaths may be murder-suicide

A man and woman were found dead Wednesday morning in an apparent murder-suicide at their home, a city spokesman said.
Friends hadn't heard from the husband in several days and went to check on him at the couple's home in the 1500 block of Sharon Drive about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. They called police after finding the bodies of the two, who had been married about four years. The Dallas County medical examiner's office identified the couple as Jerry and Amy Mayfield of Cedar Hill.
City spokesman Corky Brown said detectives found Amy Mayfield, 37, wrapped in a sheet in the garage of the home near Kingswood Park, west of State Highway 67. Jerry Mayfield, 45, was found in his car parked in the garage. Both appeared to have died from gunshot wounds, Brown said.
He said it's unclear when the slayings occurred, but the husband had left notes and e-mails for detectives detailing their deaths.
