Italy ISD Trustees Could Fire Superintendent. Here's the Reason...

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the chorus of the local media establishment and parents are frothing at their mouths because one, two or maybe even three Italy ISD school board trustees want to get rid of their school superintendent...

I love NeoTrib.com, but come on guys, let's show some leadership and call out a spade when you see one...let's not gloss over stuff...

The city of Italy made an illegal vote by giving their mayor, Frank Jackson, a salary. It was against the law. And much like the city, the school district committed a total and brazen violation of the law when it used taxpayer funds to hire a campaign consultant to push through a recent tax-increase. You can read the excerpt here that I wrote about way back then:

But hiring a "campaign" consultant for $2,500 in taxpayer funds to help oversee the election, that's not fine. In fact, that should have been illegal, but NeoTrib.com is ironically silent on that one. How can the WDL allow someone being paid by taxpayers write for them (Alysa Kirton) and not have the full story coming out? That to me doesn't make sense...
(we did, however, pick up that consultant info from Paul Perry's WDL editorial and found out who, what, when, where and why that $2,500 in taxpayer funds was spent)

Speaking of Perry, the response to his editorial by NeoTrib.com's Mark Stiles is a bit of a red herring. I'll take up the main point: calling a tax increase election a tax rollback is (a) misleading, (b) misleading and (c) misleading.
And the latest news from the Italy prison complex that city leaders could bring in has erupted into a fight in McLennan County, as well: italyneotribune.com/stories/letter-to-the-editor-italy-jail-prospect
