Oncor Drenched w/ 2,000 Angry Galaxy Drive-In Theatre Callers

Oncor Electric Delivery had a busy night Sunday after about 2,000 pissed-off customers at the Galaxy Drive-In Theatre near Ennis phoned in complaints that the power wasn't coming on. The Galaxy called Oncor at 6:30 p.m. to notify them of the power outage, but by the time 9 p.m rolled around on the busiest night of the year, still darkness.

Luckily for the Galaxy, I have some information that might help them and others who are faced with customer service representatives who are rude and threaten to "make sure you have no more power ever" if that particular customer service rep ("Sandra" was her name) received another call...

There are three call centers in DFW for Oncor: one in Las Colinas; one in Corinth and one in Waco. There was only one guy in the entire Oncor apparatus for Sunday night, and he was from McKinney. Calls for service are handled in two directions: west of Highway 360 and east of Highway 360. So the "D.O.C." for Ellis County is east of Highway 360...

And with only three call centers, it will be easier to find out who this Sandra lady was....

Oncor officials told The Ellis County Observer that the Galaxy should contact the Public Utility Commission and lodge a formal complaint against not only Oncor, but the customer service representative, mentioning the date, time, exact description of what happened, etc.

  1. 2000 angry callers at The Galaxie Drive In. 200 matbe counting toddlers. I worked at the Astro Drive In as a kid and it held 600 cars with and estimated total attendence of 1800-2100 if we were having a concert. You could fit the entire City of Garrett within that property, 2000 callers?

Bush, the Astro Drive-In was probably a lot smaller than the Galaxy.

And yes, 2,000 callers, according to the Galaxy. Who, by the way, had to refund damn-near $10,000 for Oncor's "Sandra" to threaten them with no power ever again if she received one more phone call from angry customers from the Galaxy.
